Sinopse

Part of a course designed for use in the modern classroom and written for today´s adult and secondary school student of English. It aims to take complete beginners to the point where they can communicate effectively and with confidence in everyday situations. The course is split into two stages each giving approximately 120-150 hours of teaching material. Each stage offers: a student´s book providing practical communicative activities and revision work; two class cassettes providing realistic dialogues, news items, announcements and short stories; three language review cassettes featuring pronunciation and structure practice for the language laboratory, the classroom or private study; a workbook which offers a variety of written exercises ideal for homework or private study; a detaile teacher´s book giving full support for the teacher as well as ideas for warm-up tasks, classroom management and the development of learning skills, as well as a full set of scripts and answers to the exercises. This first stage guides students through basic functions and structures and gives them an everyday vocabulary of approximately 1,000 words. The second stage consolidates and expands the work done in Stage 1.
